Dolorosa joined Girl Effect as Country Lead for Tanzania in 2020 and leads our youth-brand Tujibebe - a mobile-based brand focused on adolescent girls. She arrived from the Embassy of Switzerland to Tanzania and Zambia where she served as a Senior Professional supporting country health and innovation programmes.
Prior to joining the Embassy, she was with Pathfinder International impacting the lives of thousands of women and families through the provision of urgently needed maternal, child and reproductive health services in the Lake Zone, Tanzania. Dolorosa led important innovations in the delivery of services in rural areas, including the use of mobile phones to improve the quality and consistency of counselling and data collection and establishment of a centralised emergency transport.
She also worked with a wide range of local and international organisations such as Tandabui Health Access Tanzania, AMREF Health Africa, Dogodogo Centre Street Children Trust and Southern Africa Human Rights Trust in Zimbabwe.
A former Africa University graduate and London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, she is also an emerging voice for Global Health and an Eisenhower Fellow since 2017.
