Tiva is the Country Director for Girl Effect Rwanda where she leads a diversified, multifunctional team to deliver country programmes, while collaborating with the global Headquarters team to address needs from either side. She is the face of the organization and is tasked with overseeing the design and implementation of strategic and operational undertakings to ensure that ‘Ni Nyampinga’ (GER’s youth brand) reaches millions of girls across Rwanda. This entails nurturing and managing relationships with a range of stakeholders including government ministries, development partners, and international and local NGOs. Tiva also leads transformation processes aimed at evolving and expanding the ‘Ni Nyampinga’ brand.
Tiva joined Girl Effect in 2011 shortly after the Rwanda country office opened. Prior to joining Girl Effect, Tiva worked with TechnoServe, a USA-based international NGO that is involved in agribusiness development in Rwanda. She has gained over 15 years experience working with international NGOs and in 2021, she was appointed the Co-Chair of the Network of International NGOs in Rwanda (NINGO).
Tiva holds an MBA in Business Administration from the American Intercontinental University in Houston, Texas and a BS in Computer Information Systems from La Roche College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She is currently a volunteer with ‘Vision Youth Group,’ a non-profit sports organization.
